Countdown Begins for Tivoli to Break 100,000 Mark in Cumulative Domestic Sales

The cumulative domestic sales of Ssangyong Motor’s compact SUV Tivoli are set to break the 100,000 level. According to Ssangyong Motor on December 12, the Tivoli, which was released first in Korea in January 2015, has been sold 96,343 units until November 2016.

Ssangyong officials said, “Given last month’s sales of 5,090 units, we expect the cumulative domestic sales of Tivoli to pass the 100,000 mark within this month,” adding, “This would be the fastest pace of sales among Ssangyong models.”

It was the Rexton that achieved the domestic sales of 100,000 units in the shortest period of time among Ssangyong models. It took 29 months for the Rexton, which was released in September 2001, to achieve the cumulative sales of 100,000 units.

The Tivoli joined the competition last year, later than its rival GM Korea’s Trax in 2013 and Renault Samsung’s QM3 in 2014. Despite its late entry, the Tivoli, however, has kept the top spot in terms of market share thanks to its fashionable design and price competitiveness.
